Steel Panther, Rev Theory, Red Line Chemistry
|
A quick 30-40 minute stage setup change took place after Rev Theory until Steel Panther’s arrival on stage. After a recorded introduction that sounded like Darth Vader speaking, the Los Angeles quartet of Stix Zadinia, Michael Starr, Satchel and Lexxi Foxxx took to the stage and immediately started out with “Supersonic Sex Machine” followed by “Tomorrow Nite” and “Asian Hooker.” Michael Starr, Satchel and Lexxi Foxxx all included their on stage humor and antics that they’re known so well for with some voluntary and involuntary audience participation. They continued with their classic sounding set with “Just Like Tiger Woods,” “Turn Out The Lights” and “Fat Girl” before Satchel’s incredible guitar and drum solo of multiple classic songs like “Ironman,” “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “Breaking The Law” and “Master of Puppets.” Satchel’s solo alone was worth the $9.89 price of admission. Just as “Community Property” and “Party All Day” were being played, Michael Starr started inviting girls from the crowd on stage to dance in the background as they usually do as they continued the rest of their set. Wichita local Sara Meek not only got to dance with Michael Starr during “If You Really Really Love Me” but was also Lexxi Foxxx’s personal lip gloss assistant once on stage as she applied lip gloss to his lips as he played on with the set. Since there were conveniently 17 girls on stage at this point, the next track, “17 Girls In A Row” was perfectly introduced. The band finished their set with “Death To All But Metal.”
This past year’s Twisted Xmas will definitely be tough to beat between the low cost and the onslaught of non-stop rock that fans enjoyed. |
